[Am starting a new topic because it is in a different timeline. After Ryan discovers that the evidence with which he translated to make it look visible ends up being Michaelan's handwriting. Thus, he is now to search for any evidence to prove that she was, indeed, at the crime scene. Anyone is free to join, however keep in mind that this is in a different time than the first topic; for in the first topic Ryan is completely immobilized, due to the crashing hospital. He is partially healed here, and was given the 'good' by his doctor. Just wanted to say that.]
"Just keep lookin', just keep lookin', just keep lookin', lookin', lookin'.." Ryan sang to himself, looking around the debris, using his partly-dead arm to lift the small parts of debris that didn't kill his arm even more. He held his flashlight a little higher, letting the circle of light run across the many pieces of burnt rubble and countless ashes. It was good the place didn't reek of gasoline as much as it did not too long ago, or else.. he didn't even want to think what would happen.
The Trace analyst continued to search for a sign, any sign, of his psychopathic half-cousin, for he had an idea of some sort that it was, indeed, her who did this. Perhaps with a partner, considering that even Michaelan could not handle burning such a large setting. Of course, he could have cuffed her and placed her in holding, however that would be frowned upon: nobody must accuse with lack of corresponding evidence. Evidence was everything in this job; no evidence, means no case.

Kayla knew Ryan would be here, and she had to help him. It didn't matter to her how much he annoyed her, she had to help him. She found him and walked silently behind him."Ryan... How long have you been out here?" she asked quietly. She bent down next to him and looked down."What are you looking for?' she asked quietly.

Ryan had been busily making his way around, wincing every so often as the muscles in his arm were strained. He, however, swallowed; continuing to lift the debris and search for something that would implement that the person he was suspecting was in this burnt wreck. He had, of course, been concentration on the task at hand; all five senses [was taste included?] utilized to find any type of evidence. So, it was only natural he had jumped a little as his name was called.
He turned his head, a slightly lopsided grin appearing on his face at the sight of a colleague. "I've been here for a few hours, lifting some debris. Just lookin' for some evidence.." he trailed off, swallowing; before continuing to search.

Kayla returned the smile and had an urge to just give him a hug. It was an akward one-armed hug. She felt that he needed it now. She let go and looked down and started moving debris."Are you looking for evidence for Michaelan or just evidence in general?" she asked quietly, glancing at him quickly.

Ryan had been taken aback at the hug; the feeling of someone's arm around him. It was a strange feeling to be hugged by someone other than your family members, so it was only natural he was surprised. He grinned at her, shrugging. "I suppose evidence in general. I hate Michaelan, but she's not the only pyromaniac in this world, is she?" he remarked, wincing when he lifted a rather heavy block. His arm still throbbed.

((She doesn't know about the go ahead from his doc. ))
Kayla smiled slightly and nodded."Got that right," she muttered under her breath. She started to look again and noticed his grimace."Ry, your doctor did say it was okay for you to work again, didn't he?" she asked, her voice showing worry that wasn't ever there.
Ryan blinked, at the sudden show of worry. Kayla didn't worry about her, she never did care about him; usually only speaking to him when he annoyed her too much. He blinked one more time, before smiling; looking down at the rubble he was looking through; almost a little shy.
"Um, yeah. He said it was okay. Thanks for asking."
Was he.. shy?

Kayla nodded wordlessly. As long as he wasn't lying, she would just stay quiet out it this time. She was starting to get worried with all the caring and worrying about him. It wasn't in her character. She shook her head a little, her attempt to get her head clear. She looked down at the rubble and started to move some things out of the way.

Ryan continued to search, and a small wince escaped his lips as a piece of glass cut through the skin of his palm, and his glove. Frowning, just slightly; he took a small glance at Kayla, hoping she didn't notice, before continuing to work; bleeding hand stuffed in his pocket.
"Ah!"
He picked up a match, grinning. "There might be a partial, don't you think?"

Kayla turned slowly towards him, missing the blood in his hand, but not missing that it was missing. She looked at the match and grinned. She took and evidence bag out of her coat pocket and took it from him. She dropped in it and finally smiled at him."Suprizing that made it," she muttered.

Ryan had been staring at his wound for a prolonged period of time, lips pursed at the mere sight of blood. Memories flashed across his mind; sending him through a whirl of nostalgia, his eye getting shot; Horatio getting shot.. everything. Even though he was part of the second thing, it was still shocking all in all.
"Ah, yeah! Awesome!" he exclaimed about five seconds after she spoke, blinking once, twice, in slight confusion.
How embarrassing.
