'In love? Wow. And I haven't even thought about getting married at all,' Ryan thought to himself, nodding at the statement and squeezing her hand reassuringly. "It's alright. It wasn't your fault," he murmured softly, looking towards her with those shimmering hazel optics of his; a smile on his face. "Nobody deserves to die. Some just have to go earlier than others. Just remember that you'll see him again, Aiden. And that whenever the sun rises, it's the one you love most checking on you, wondering if you're still okay. You have to hold your head up high. You're never alone, remember that," he said; wondering where those words came from.

Weird.

Aiden looked up and met her blue green eyes with Ryan's hazel ones. A sad smile formed on her lips. She simply nodded, also shocked that those particular words had come from Ryan."Thanks. I know I need to move on. I'll be alright one day. I know I will. But I just feel like the grieving will never end."

[RYAN WOLFE!™]

Ryan closed his eyes, nodding. "Well.. I felt that way, too, when I had to leave Boston and the ones I love back there," he said, opening his eyes and smiling. "But I remember that they'll always be there for me. You just have to remember that, too," he added; hazel optics holding a glimmer of hope. Well--that is, hope of her recovery; of both spirit, mind and body.

Aiden nodded slowly. "Thank you so much. For everything."She smiled. Then turning her head to stare out the window, she took a deep breath held it and then let it out slowly. "I am BEYOND exhausted but I doubt that I could sleep even if I wanted to."

"Don't mention it. It's what friends.. it's what friends do," Ryan murmured, wondering why he paused; though hoping she didn't notice it. "Exhaustion's normal. You got shot; I don't blame you. At least you didn't get anything too fatal," he said; looking at the optimistic side.

Aiden looked a little confused as to why he paused but decided that it was nothing. She nodded once again. "It definitely could've been worse. Not just for me but for all of us. I hope the others are alright too."

She ran her fingers through her dark hair. She grasped a small piece and played with the strange, which she often did out of habit.

"Yeah.. especially Horatio and Ash. They were in an even worse scenario than we were. And you know the lab won't really be the same without them," Ryan murmured, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning his head against the backrest. He wondered why he had accompanied her in the first place, when it could have been Kate--she had a better feel for human anatomy.

Great.

Now he had to think about it.

Aiden sighed deeply. " Definitely not. Especially with out 'H'." She bit her lip, thinking. " I can't decide what was worse about this case. The fact that a group of people were targeting CSI's or that they picked us off one by one so we couldn't properly defend ourselves."A shudder spread across her body involuntarily.

Ryan continued to think, biting on his lip ever so slightly before yelping at the sudden sound of her voice. "Huh, what--yeah. Both are still criminal actions, though. And it's technically our job to haul their arses over to jail," he said and grinned cheerfully. "Besides, we just gotta look on the bright side now! Like.. for example, we're still alive! And I bet the doctors are doing their best to keep H and Ash out of the red light," he added, hoping that it would lighten up the mood.

Aiden grinned. " I can't wait to send those monsters to prison where they belong." She nearly growled the words out.

"Yeah. I'm sure Ash and H will be fine."She smiled and nodded reassuringly.

"Anyway.. we still haven't gone out for ice cream," Ryan said and looked at her with a playful sort of smile. "I'm still waiting for those Skittles on top of the sundae," he added and stuck his tongue out childishly. "You promiiiiiiseeeed."

Lighten up the mood was all he could do now.

Aiden laughed, causing her side to twinge painfully but she ignored it. " That I did bu I might just keep them for myself."She grinned, teasing him. She herself was trying to keep the mood light.

"B-B-But..! You promised..!" Ryan whimpered, looking at her with his shimmering hazel orbs; sounding much like a child rather than the twenty-seven year old he really was.

"Fine, then. But I'm not paying for your ice cream," he said, crossing his arms over his chest and turning around.

Aiden gasped with a look of fake shock plastered across her features. "Psh. Fine. You can have some Skittles." She stuck her tongue out like a five year-old rather than the 25 year-old woman she happened to be. "Just don't eat all the green ones. They're my favorite."

"Yay! I want to hug you right now, but I can't; so I'll pretend I am," Ryan held his arms out in the air and hugged himself. It was strange, but rather adorable: he normally did this to Horatio when he wasn't on the case. He had even hugged the man's leg once.

"Okay, sooo. Ice cream later?"

Aiden laughs at the very entertaining action of Ryan hugging himself. "I would hug you back but I can't so...yeah."

Of COURSE!!!! Ice cream as soon as we get those creeps behind bars." Aiden looked toward the door to her hospital room, swearing she heard it creak open but no one had entered.

"Well, then you owe me a hug then," Ryan concluded and crossed his legs; stretching and falling off the chair, his good arm making contact with the floor. "Oooowwww..!" he murmured, whimpering a little and then getting back on his chair, blinking.

"Yeah! We can order the huge boat thingy with lots of flavors!" he said happily.

" Fine. I guess I do owe you a hug. As soon as I get out of this hospital bed." Aiden quickly stiffles a giggle as Ryan falls off the chair. "Are you okay?" She asked, restraining a laugh fit.

" That sounds awesome! I haven't had ice cream in awhile!"

"I'm as okay as I have to be," Ryan said and twitched when he spotted his bandage coming off. He tightened it, staring as the blood started to form again. "Aw, geez.."

Then, hearing her response; he grinned cheerfully and nodded. "It is awesome! And how could you not have ice cream in a while? That's, like.. inhumanly possible!" he remarked with such surprise in his tone that you would actually believe him.

Aiden laughed softly. "I know! Right? I guess I just haven't had time lately between work and unpacking my things to get ice cream."

She looked at the clock briefly and then back at the tile.

"Ah, time is of the essence, isn't it?" Ryan said, grinning and tightening his bandage once more. Goddarn thing just never seemed to do what it was supposed to.

"But, anyway. You should be admitted to get out soon.."

He really lacked anything to talk about.
