Ryan sighed, standing and walking away from the corpses, now trying to look for the point of origin. The scent of gasoline hung heavy in the air, and practically sliced at his lungs; but he supposed he should be getting used to it. He had been in this burned down building for a long time, now. Closing his eyes, and using his sense of smell to find the gasoline, he started to walk, step by step.
Something creaked.
Something cracked.
And then the ceiling came crashing down on him.

Aiden looked at the corpses before her. Her eye brows furrowed slightly. She tried her best to keep her face as expressionless as possible. If she could keep the emotion out her face perhaps she could banish it completely. But it never worked that way. Her eyes teared up slightly from the gasoline but most for the make-shift graveyard that the rubble had created. What kind of monster would do this?
Her train of thought was shattered to bits by a crashing sound. Aiden jumped and looked in the direction of the sound. The ceiling had just collapsed in part of the hospital, or what was left of the hospital at least.
It took her but a fraction of a second to comprehend. The building had collapsed. The building a fellow CSI had entered collapsed. The building Ryan was in. "Ryan!" She shrieked as her instincts kicked in and adrenaline flooded her system as she raced towards the wreckage.

Silence had once been dominating the area; the only sound that of speaking CSIs, the random shuffling; and the occasionally swear of a police officer. Such a silence, one would suppose, was rare in a crime scene; especially when people had to take pictures, and human beings crowded around the spot.
However, that rare silence; had been shattered, with one piercing, hollow scream; that of the Trace expert, Ryan Wolfe. One last scream, before the debris finally fell, collapsing onto his already broken figure and covering him completely. It was then the world as he saw it turned black, nothing left; a dark abyss he himself could not comprehend.
How would he get out this mess, this time?

Holy shit! Anya thought to herself, landing awkwardly on a her bad arm as the... Well, whatever there was of a hospital came falling. She was right at the edge, just walking out from beneath it. She noticed Ryan Wolfe walking in before it collapsed. She twisted out of her little knot, kicking away debris and struggling to roll onto her back. She heard a loud scream or yell, or call, she wasn't sure what it was. It sounded like it was from CSI Aiden. Her own energy flooded through her as she stumbled to her feet, coughing out dust and ashes, burning her throat because the dust and ashes were hot before shaking herself free of the soot. Her arm felt strange. She probably re-broke part of it, like she did nearly every year. She felt the pain, but she knew her job was to help the fellow officer, no matter how much he drove her insane...

Stumbling over debris the whole way over, Aiden finally reached the place she had seen collapse. She dropped to her knees and started desperately trying to pull away the heavy, charred remains of hospital where she thought Ryan might be. "Ryan? Can you hear me? Ry?" She continued tearing away slowly at the wreckage.

She staggered and tripped over the debris, coughing and panting, her throat shrieking with fire. Aiden was digging away at the rubble, searching for Ryan. No one would probably appreciate her help but she went over anyways, holding her arm by her side. "Aiden.." She broke off with a rasping cough before continuing. "Where was he?" She didn't want to wait for other cops to finally come over. They needed to get him out, now, before he suffocated or the weight of the debris did something damaging to him.

Aiden looked up, shocked to see Anya. "He was just around where we are now when the building went down." She stared down at it, still clawing madly at the debris. "I'm trying to get him out but I'm only one person." She tried to keep the frustration and worry out of her voice but it cracked slightly.

Anya coughed again, blinking smoke out of her eyes. She stepped over to the area and dropped down to her knees, more out of exhaustion than anything. Still, she began to dig at the rubble, pulling away remaining wood and shards of glass and metal. Her entire body ached from falling, but she didn't let it show, other than she hardly moved her broken arm. "We need to get some EMT's over here," she gagged on smoke when she spoke. She could see nothing that could possibly be a human being. Not even the glow of a hidden badge could be seen...

Ashley heard the scream and tried to find where it came from, then she heard Aiden's words; the worlds that made her run through everything and push everyone aside. When she got to Aiden and Anya, she couldn't even talk now. Her throat seemed to be closing up with all the smoke and smell of gasoline. She bent over and started moving the rumble as quickly as she could. The gloves she was wearing were tearing but she couldn't notice. She couldn't lose Ryan...She started to shake slightly from her fear that was starting to overcome her."Ryan....pl-please," she whispered, her voice breaking from her swollen throat and the wail she was biting back. There was no way that she could lose Ryan...Just no way.

His body was slowly numbing, his sudden feel for the world slipping away little by little. He attempted to raise his arm, gasping as a shard of glass got lodged into his flesh; which he supposed must be raw or something. He closed his eyes, attempting his best to inhale, before finally nudging the collar of his shirt and placing his nose and mouth in it; breathing. Hopefully the cloth would be an okay sort of substitute filter.
He lay there, wondering if he could manage to say something; to scream out someone's name. ".. A.." he whispered, closing his eyes, his head falling limp to the side.

The sound of the scream; the call for help, Kyle dropped the pieces of rubble he was holding, there weren't any fingerprints, anyway; and immediately ran to the spot. "Aaah!" he shouted out of frustration, looking at Aiden with some sort of serious look. "Three people, now," he muttered, starting to do his best to pull the debris away, finding it utterly stupid that Ryan, of all people, had to suffer this. And he was the one that helped him that first day, to find his father. He frowned, not really wanting to lose a.. friend, like this.
Continuing to pull the debris off as best he could, he swallowed.
This was turning out to be like a movie.
Without the happy ending.

(OOC - I gotta save you! xD)
Ashley heard the faint whisper and knew it was off to her right. she moved and gingerly moved the rubbish on top of him. She saw skin and moved quicker. She saw an arm and she felt dizzy with relief. She pulled more and uncovered his head then moved a bit more so most of his body was uncovered."Ryan..." she whispered, her voice cracking. She didn't lose him... She stared at him and grabbed his hand softly. The EMTs were there getting him out of it. She stood shakily and had to hold on to Aiden to stay up.

[OOC: orlynao]
It was as if he were dreaming. He had somehow appeared out of nowhere, in a dark abyss; with no living being in it besides himself. He had started to run, almost frantically, away from something. Some huge hammer, or at least, that was what it seemed. As if, as that hammer touched him, his essence would slowly drift away. Was this the form of fighting for death? An endless run in a dark room, running away from a hammer?
Was this it?
Then, he found a door. A door of some sort, one he must open.
And this assured him he would live.
But not, how his condition would be.

Aiden put a hand on Ash's shoulder, not only to keep Ash up but to keep herself up also. Relief flooded through her system, mixed with worry. She just watched the EMTs pull him out. Opening her mouth to speak, all that came out was a tiny whimper. Her eyes glazed over slightly, thinking hard.

Anya gazed at the scene before her for a moment, her eyes growing distant again. She snapped back to the past, of the plane crash, but snapped herself out of it before she lost all sense of everything around her. The burning in her throat had not subsided, but instead seemed to triple. It felt like millions of little shards of ice were shooting up and down, cutting through her throat. She coughed painfully, each cough sending more pain through her but she couldn't stop because of the burning. Gasping for air through the coughs, she fought to her feet in order to stagger away, but couldn't stand properly so she dropped back down onto her heels. She wondered to herself if ashes and dirt hadn't been the only things she had breathed in when the building collapsed. She tasted something hot and metallic on her, and also with a foul taste and she spat it out onto her hand. Blood. Great. She probably swallowed glass or something. She again struggled to her feet, stumbling towards Ashley and Aiden, trying to ignore the pain of each cough. Ryan looked terrible. She would have said something if her throat wasn't on fire, and if she could stop coughing enough to draw in a breath. Instead, her expression told everything...

Ash looked toward Anya, and although her feelings toward her, she had to try and help her out."Anya... Anya, you need to get out of here," she said quietly and stepped towards her. Her coughing was horrible, and she could never let anyone go through that. She grabbed Aiden to make sure that she stayed up. Right now their main concern was for everyone's health...At that thought, she heard a startled yelp in the distance. She turned to see a young teen, a couple years younger than Kyle, staring at the rumble under her. She let go of Aiden after making sure she didn't fall. Sh ran over and saw a pale hand under the rumble that the girl was staring at."My boyfriend's under here!" she screamed, her voice paniced. Ash bent over and moved everything on top of him."What were you thinking?" Ash and the girl yelled in unison when he was of of harm's way."I-I... I wanted to see what was going on," he whispered, his eyes gratful and sscared. She directed him to some EMTs who weren't working with Ryan. His arms were bleeding... She sighed and walked back to Aiden and Anya. Her hands were now spilling with blood, but she didn't care.

Fighting the burn for a moment she swallowed painfully as she tasted more blood, but that was a bad idea. It hurt twice as much as a cough, and she instinctively reached up to her throat with her good arm/hand. She coughed again, this time spitting out the blood that washed up into her mouth. She heard Ashley, but she couldn't look up at the moment. She was a little busy. Taking a breath she looked up, her eyes watering with the effort of trying not to cough and then nodded, wincing to her feet. Aiden looked as though she was going to pass out, probably from fear or shock, or maybe just horror. Probably all of them put together, now that she thought about it. She hoped that no one else what hurt. Everything was now chaos. She also hoped that whoever did this would be killed, or they would pay a harder way. Burn down a 'hospital?' It was almost unthinkable...

Aiden stared blankly. Everything seemed blurry and surreal. Her slender body trembled and her eyes were wide. Her mind seemed to be working slower than normal, trying to comprehend what was going on while the world seemed to be a million miles away. The horror of it all getting to her. The hospital. The charred bodies of innocent people. The sound of the building collapsing and Ryan screaming ringing in her ears. Her breathing shallowed and became heavy, near hyperventilation.

Since the big brother wasn't on duty, it was Ash's turn. She grabbed Aiden's arm and warpped her other arm around Anya's shoulders and walked slowly through the rumble. She wouldn't listen to any arguments, and she would ignore any punches Anya gave her. They were at the end of the debris, and she stopped them."You both need to get as far away from here as you possibly can. Anya...I have no idea what's wrong with you, but you need help," she said quietly. She looked at aiden and sighed."You are about to pass out... We can't have anyone else hurt out here," she said quietly.

OOC: You know, it's really hurts having glass literally cutting your throat from the inside. Oww... Personal experience their.
She had to swallow. There was no way around it. She swallowed, and was now glad she didn't have the breath to speak or make a sound because she probably would have screamed from the pain of her burning and torn throat. The ripping pain was constant, now, and she knew something was wrong. Well, it didn't take rocket science to figure that out, but she could feel it. Her next convulsion of coughs brought up blood, and a small shard of something.... Glass! Great... When the building collapsed she breathed in soot, dirt, and glass, and it much have dug into the inside of her throat. That wasn't really helpful. She gasped, holding herself up against a standing board and she managed to choke out a few words. "Swallowed... glass!" Pain grated her voice and it felt like she had swallowed several lit matches at once. She clenched her teeth together with the agony of it, but she gazed unseeingly up into the air trying to contain it.

Swallowing, in fear and apprehension, Kyle wondered what was to become of Ryan, and of the rest; who just seemed to be in need of medical attention. This case was starting to end up hurting so many people, emotionally; physically.. there was so much pain. And he couldn't do anything about it.
Kyle stands from his place, stares at his ripped latex gloves and closes his eyes. There is nothing left to do, but keep examining without the aid of anyone else. People were depending on him now. He needed to do this.
He then heard Anya's raspy voice, and looked towards her form, cobalt blue optics widening in horror at what he saw. Coughing out blood.. and the pain; all that pain..
"Detective Veralusina!" he called out, running to her; helping her stand, a frown on his face. "I'll take you to the medics, okay?"
Why did this behavior seem so similar to someone..?

Anya coughed again before she heard a voice from behind and turned to see Kyle Harmon, Horatio's son, coming towards them. She glowered at some of the EMT's, her opinion on seeing them clear. She knew she was going to have to soon, but could she leave the scene like this? There were too many people here that needed to be IDed, so family members will be with their lost loved ones. She would have said something but was seized by another coughing fit, and then fell silent for a moment. She struggled to contain herself before speaking again, "We are needed here," she replied, her useless crippled arm on as much fire from the stupid break as her throat was from the glass. The pain hadn't made her any less stubborn, though, which truthfully didn't really help anyone at all.

That one statement made the boy realize just how far she was willing to go to serve justice. A little inspired, he nodded. ".. Just don't strain your throat or anything. We're going to need to do something about your arm though.." he frowned, and then bit his lower lip. "You wouldn't mind a makeshift cast, would you?" he asked, hoping that she would consent. Of course, her throat would need much more attention from the medics, but she had insisted on staying. The arm, however, could be helped here, right now.

Horatio stood frozen in the doorway listening intently on the noise making sure it was all real. We was about to take a step when the building gave a slight sway and a loud crashing sound came from the front of the hospital. He spun around and listened to the faint screams of horror. He would leave that mess to the EMT's, he had to focus on what was in the room just beyond his reach.

Eric finally arrived on the scene, after being left behind in traffic that stretched all the way up to Wyoming, or so it seemed. The first person he saw was Ashley, and then Aiden, and then he saw Kyle and Anya. He was confused at why they were all at the side of the wreckage, not even going through the scene. He noticed Aiden looked like she was going to faint, and Anya seemed to be having coughing fits. As he came closer he heard the rest of what Kyle was saying. "You wouldn't mind a makeshift cast, would you?" He was worried at what had happened while he was stuck. "Hey... What's going on?" He sounded a shocked, well, he was shocked.

She let go of Aiden and walked slowly to to Eric, her head still spinning."Anya broke her arm and she swallowed glass. Aiden is about to faint, and I'm going back to work," she said quietly, and walked past him. She couldn't even talk to Eric right now... She was too scared.

Eric's eyes widened when he heard about what happened to Ryan. He was going to ask something else but Ashley was already walking away. "Wait, wait! Ashley, it's alright! Relax!" He replied, trying to sound reassuring. He suddenly understand why Anya seemed to be choking on her own air. He also saw the blood on her hands where she coughed. Ouch, he turned back to Ashley. "Where is he?" He added quietly, walking after her...

You should know that, of all people," she said, her voice going down to a whisper as the words progressed. She felt bad about what she said, but she couldn't take them back."I-I don't know," she said, looking dowm."I'm sorry," she said quietly.

Sighing, at the fact that this case changed so many people so quickly, Kyle slipped on some gloves, and took out a flashlight, continuing to look through the rubble. If there would be a hair, fingernail, tooth.. anything that could lead to the perpetrator. Said person had made them all suffer so much.. and he couldn't quite leave that to go unheeded. He frowned, continuing to look through.
Why was it so much easier when he saw the others work it?
Maybe because fire scenes were just.. naturally harder than crime scenes that involved guns. After all, fire scenes had a bunch of rubble, and dirt to go through.. made it harder to look, didn't it?
Kyle sighed.
This would take a while.

Anya shook her head, still stubbornly. "There's no time," she replied, agitated with everything that was going on. Eric Delko finally walked on the scene, and instantly started speaking with Ashley so she left them alone to talk. Coughing, she turned away, looking at the rubble and fallen hospital everywhere. There were dead bodies and pieces of them littered over the ground, and emotionally, she flinched away. Hey eyes fell upon the body of a baby, just in innocent, young child that looked as though he or she hadn't even lived for a year, and now he/she never would. It wasn't just the physical pain from her throat and arm that made her stagger away, but the emotional pain from the scars on the inside. An innocent child, dead. She backed away from the scene, knowing she could not handle processing it this time.
