Gavin had been passed out of the grass, his body reeling from the smoke inhilation and the porch he had been shoved off in Aiden's attempt to save him. Conciousness came to his body, like the jaws of life. A sharp intake of breath and he sat up, disoriented.
Suddenly, it all rushed back to him. The evidence. The fire. Ryan chasing after him. Aiden shoving him out of the house as it collapsed. Aiden! He jumped up onto his unsteady feet and raced around to the side of the house to where Ash, Ryan, and Aiden were. Instantly he was relieved. He knelt down on the dirt next to them. "Is everyone alright?"
