"Wake Up The Sleepers!"

[Grey Devine]

Grey paced around the morgue, boredom eating away at him slowly. There was nothing to do today, which was probably a good thing since it meant no dead bodies but still, there was nothing to do. Checking carefully to make sure no one was there, Grey pulled his guitar case out from the corner and gently lifted the instrument from his case.

Plugging it into the amp he'd insisted on bringing, he began to play and sing.

I watched the clouds forming tornadoes in the sky.
The winter winds blew on Lake Michigan that night.
I carved your name into my arm so I would remember you.

[Kate Switzer]

Kate looked around the outside of the morgue. She heard music. Really really pretty good music. The voice was enchanting. So beautiful. She started to open the door slowly. Trying not to stop whoever was playing. She loved the way it sounded. The lyrics are so pretty. They made so much since. She stalked her way into the morgue seeing Grey playing. She stopped herself from gasping. She smiled.

[Grey Devine]

Grey lost himself in the music. Music was what kept him from losing it. He heard the door creak and looked up quickly. He jumped seeing Kate and instantly stopped playing. He felt like his face was on fire from the embarrassment. Oh. H-hi.

[Kate Switzer]

Her exspretion dropped. She loved the sound. She saw that he was nervous. She smiled, trying to make him feel better. Hi, Your really really good. I'm sorry if i scared you. She said quietly. She looked around the Morgue. I guess that it's good there isnt any dead bodies but, this makes things really boring.

[Grey Devine]

Grey smiled, glad she'd like it. Thanks. I wrote it not too long ago.He laughed a bit. Actually, it's the first time I've played in front of an audience sober-He stopped, and his stomach dropped. He'd let that last part slip. He hadn't meant to. I mean...ummm...well....

[Kate Switzer]

Kate gave him a soft smile. It's okay. If you don't want to talk about it i don't mind if we don't go into details. She paused. This is what was bothering him earlyer. He has a problem, used to have a problem. That was good. He didn't have it anymore it looked like. If you don't mind me asking why why did you move here......? she asked trying to take his mind off it if he didn't have to talk about it.

[Grey Devine]

He sighed. It's okay. I don't mind. We're going to be working to together and be around each other a lot so I should clear the air a bit. Grey hesitated and focused his dark eyes on the floor, then looked at Kate. I got fired actually. The lab here is the only place that'd take me. I owe Horatio a lot for giving me another chance.

[Kate Switzer]

She smiled. He's good at that. That's one thing that he does alot. He like's to see the good in any and every person. That is the good thing. Things won't be that bad now. You have people to look out for you now. Her smile became soft. She liked to make people feel better. She looked aroung the empty room.

[Grey Devine]

Grey smiled. This girl was something else. ThanksHe started to play again. Only this time he played something faster, more complicated. It was loud enough that he couldn't hear the strange clicking noise coming from inside the amplifier.

[Kate Switzer]

Kat listened. This was really good. She looked around the queit room. The white walls and the silver wall of holding areas. Music seemed to come alive in this place. The queit made an echo that sounded wonderful. She loved it. She smiled softly.

[Grey Devine]

Grey grinned, noticing Kate's reaction to the music.

I want a girl with lips like morphine

He jumped up on the amp, like he would've in front of a larger audience. He felt something rumble underneath his feet but he thought it was just vibrations from the guitar. He continued singing.

Grey's singing was drowned out with a foreboding rumbling sound. On instinct, He jumped off of the amp just as the ground shook an a huge explosion erupted from beneath his feet.

[Kate Switzer]

She smiled at the lyrics. The sudden heat carressed her. What the hell?!?!?!?! She felt the impact of the big exspotion. GREY ARE YOU OKAY?!!! She screamed. She felt herself on the ground. The ground was cold. She heat subsided. The smell of acid smoke entered her nose. Her eyes watered as she tried to look around. She ignored the slick feeling on her arm(s).

[Grey Devine]

An overpowering heat enveloped Grey. The explosion propelled him backwards and into the wall like a rag doll. The wall along with a good majority of the morgue blew to bits and little pieces of debris fell on him as he slid to the floor. Smoke filled his lungs and he coughed violently. The back of his head felt strange and wet. He slumped down on the floor. What the hell just happened?

[Aiden Hawthorne]

Aiden walked into the the lab, looking for Gavin. The hall was fairly empty.Where was he? Suddenly, she found her thoughts disturbed as the ground around her shook and she heard a loud noise. It sounded like an explosion.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio sat quietly at his desk filling through files. Looking for something but nothing in particular, it was starting to drive him crazy. Knowing he needed to find something but not being able to wrap his head around it was quite bothersome. He let out a soft sigh of breath that he realized he was holding, he looked up. The lab was getting busier by the day, it was heartwarming. Knowing that everybody was finally coming back made him happy, and cheerful. This glee suddenly turned to raw confusion and curiosity when a big bang came from the Morgue wing. He dropped the folder and stood up suddenly, nearly tipping his chair over.

As he slammed his office door shut, he noticed people start hurrying to wards the morgue. He jogged down the corridor, softly nudging people out of his way. He turned the corner as soon as the fire alarms started to go off, he waved to those who had started to crowd around, to leave. He went in and found the source of it all.
"Alright, is everybody OK?" he said as he walked in and started shuffle around.

[Kate Switzer]

SHe herd the voice of a man. It took her a second to relize who it was. The smoke was rushing down her throat. She tried to scream for him. Nothing came out. Her energy was gone. She tried to get up from the floor. She slipped on something wet and warm. We need him! her mind screamed. Yet she couldn't muster up the energy to try anymore. What had happened?The last thing i remeber was listing to Grey play his guitar and then nothing.... What ever it was Horatio would find out and put the person behide bars for it. Her mind was starting to feel fuzzy. She started to close her eyes. She was drifting away from all the people, noises, and pain.

[Horatio Caine]

The smoke was quickly thickening, making it hard to see, let alone breathe. Horatio looked around franticly. Any minute now the fire department should be here, and ready to help. He stumbled on something slick yet thick and sticky on the floor, he looked down and realized it was blood. He took in a sharp breath and let it out slowly pushing through the smoke and debris. He seen a dark shape in the corner of the room and realized it was Kate. "Kate!" he yelled and rushed over to where she layed, slumped and sprawled out like a ragdoll.

[Grey Devine]

Grey heard Horatio's voice and tried to call out for help but dust and smoke filled his lungs. He coughed and tried to stand up but he was too weak. He managed to crawl over to where Kate and H were by an arm and a leg. Horatio... He finally forced out in a wheeze.

[Kate Switzer]

She forced a smile. The pain was deafing. She wanted to go back. What had exscly happend. The guitar and then boom. She didn't want to think. She just wantted to lay there with nothing to bother her. To let the pain put her to sleep so she didn't have to feel it. She looked at Horaito slightly. H.... She looked at him unable to say anymore.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio knelt by Kate and was about to pick her up when he noticed his new Medical Examiner out of the corner of his eye and the soft croak that Grey had sighed. Horatio groaned furiously. I can't pick them both up! The fire department better hurry up, before
I went off on something, Horatio thought. These guys needed help and now! "Hold on, you'll be alright," he tried to say calmly, but his voice sounded weak and hoarse from the smoke.

[Grey Devine]

Grey lifted his head and looked at Horatio. Then he saw the broken remains of his guitar and at Kate, barely conscious. His stomach dropped. He looked around the morgue at the wreckage that had come from the amp. His amp to be exact. Sh*t. This looks really bad....almost like I did it....

[Kate Switzer]

Kate looked around at the morgue when Horatio picked her up. It was distroyed. How could his of happened? That question was laying in the back of her mind. She couldn't deside what happened. She didn't really want to know. She looked at he floor with her eyes barly open. Grey, his guitar, and the amp all layed on the ground broken. Her eyes wondered back to the amp. Something about it didn't seem right. It looked as if the exsplotion came from the amp. This was really really bad. If he had done this..... No he isn't the kind of person that would do this. He was sweet........ she smiled but the pain made it drop as fast as it came. She wanted to scream. To make sure that he was okay. That everything was all right with him. Her body was too limp. She couldn't move. She was okay with that as long as the pain would stop. But it didnt look as if it was going to.

[Ashley Renolds]

When it's quiet in a crime lab, you know that something bad's about to happen. Ash walked quickly inside, ready t start her shift. She was going to look for Kate to see if anything had happened while she was away. Apparently, something had. She could tell the people who were moving wer in a panic, about the norm for he lab. She was walking toward the morgue when she smelled the smoke. She broke into a run, passing Aiden. She stopped in her tracks at the site of it. She saw Horatio helping Kate and then she saw Grey. She mved through the wreckage and lowered herself to him."Can you walk?" she asked. he looked around, seeing the remains of a guitar and an amp that looked like it was once identical to one she owned. She swallowed, curious as to who was playing. She had a sneaking suspicion that it was Grey.

[Grey Devine]

His heart was pounding. This does not look good. He kept repeating in his head alternately with What have I done? and What happened? Grey heard footsteps followed by a female voice. His deep brown eyes looked up through the hair in his face. A woman he hadn't met yet stood in front of him. She asked if he could walk.

It took him a a second to comprehend what she was saying. Yeah. He lied, not wanting anyone to go out of their way to help him. He tried to get up and fell immediately back to the ground.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio turned and saw Ash helping Grey. He sighed relief. "Oh thank god your here Ash," he choked out and continued hoarsely, "Here take Kate, she'll be easier for you to carry." Horatio blinked and winced at how much it stung. His mind whirled.

[Ashley Renolds]

Ash frowned at Grey."Lying's rather stupid right now," he muttered so only he could hear, then stood up and moved to where Horatio and Kate were."Just doing my job, H," she replied to Horatio. She tried to be gentle while picking Kate up."Got any idea about what happened?" She asked, coughing as the remaining smoke went into her lungs.

James had been on the floor above the morgue walking down towards an office so naturally he felt the viabrations, instinctively he started running towards the stairwell and sped down them. He noticed people heading towards the source and smelt something odd as he neared the corridoor. Nudging people aside he blinked in the harsh thickness and coughed slightly after a moment he felt his adreline kick in and he entered spotting Horatio first then Grey and Kate "Guys...you ok?" he asked glancing around to find out what had happened.

[Kate Switzer]

She looked around. Kate found her eyes slowly starting to open again. She felt really tired. Ash....She said and looked at her with greatful eyes. She gave a slight smile showing her gratitue but the pain was great. She felt wet and gross. Not knowing the sight she wouldn't dare looked down. She didn't want to see a sight that might make her afraid.

[Ashley Renolds]

Ash smiled slightly, and manuvered through the debris. She was coughing harder now, but she tried in vain to stifle them. She passed James and continued to move until she could tell that the air was clear of smoke. She sat Kate down against the wall and murmured softly,"There will be a medic in a minute okay?" She leaned against the wall, trying to stop the coughing. When it subsided, she took out her cell and asked why the hell there wasn't a medic yet.

Kate looked at Ashley. Her coughing made her feel a bit guilty. If something happened to Ashley she woulnt be able to forgive her self. She watched what Ashley was doing. Her eyes started to wonder. She looked around the morgue. It was so trashed. She looked at everything. Everything was trashed. The tables were overturned. The drawers were pulled out and some were colaped. She couldn't believe it.
