C. Duquesne, Unknown

Jade flushed at Mrs. Katez exasperation. She'd delivered about as many paper errands for her as for any other medical examiner. Well she hadn't actually seen the medical examiner herself though. Another person had always told her to take Mrs. Katez papers. She listened to the older medical examiner continue to talk. It looked like Jade had been totally forgotten now. It usually happened. She kept her mouth shut and listened carefully. So Mrs. Katez was bringing her daughter to the hospital to see Miss Duquesne? She had managed to hear that Mrs. Katez had two children but nothing anymore specific then that fact.

She opened her mouth to speak to Mrs. Katez when she turned on her heels and walked out of the room. She made a slight shrug and resumed sitting down on the chair fingering her bag. Remembering the papers she pulled them out of her bag to show to the lieutenant.
"Mr. Caine one of the medical examiners wanted you to see this," she said pushing the stack towards the lieutenant. Exactly which one it had been had escaped her mind. She glanced down at the top sheet as she held it out. It looked like it had been written in a hurry and the name was illegible to her eyes.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

Calleigh looked at the two CSI's in the room. She let out a sigh. Her easy breathing didnt last long. It felt as if something was slamming into her heart. She lowered her head. Her hair covering her face. She grabbed were her heart was.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio turned around and took the papers.
"These are all for me?" He asked. Boy was he going to have fun reading all these.
"Welcome to the team Jade" Horatio said trying to make her feel welcomed. He then took off his sunglasses to take a better look at the papers. When he was done taking quick glances at all of the papers he set them down. He surprisingly could not wait till he could also meet Savannah's daughter. This could be fun, he said silently to himself. He then held out his hand to Jade, offering to shake her's.

[Savannah Katez]

Savannah dropped her son Brody at home before proceding back to the hospital. She walked back to Calleigh's room with her daughter Alexandrina in toe.
"Calleigh, this is my daughter, Alexandrina. Ally, this is Ms. Calleigh Duquense," Savannah introduced them.
Alexandina's blue eyes glittered with excitment.
"Ms. Duquense, it's such an honor to meet you! I heard a lot about you. I follow all your work and everything!" Ally gushed walking over to Calleigh and holding out a hand for her to shake.

Jade gave a half smile and a quick shrug at the lieutenant's first question.
"Thank you Mr. Caine," she said politely shaking his hand. After she did so she started wondering what the girl would be like. A 9th grader if she had heard correctly. And a name that was something like Alexandria or Alexandrina. Was the girl anything like her mother? The thought of Mrs. Katez as a girl made her want to laugh out loud. It seemed like the serious medical examiner had never been a child.

She was shaken out her thoughts by the sound of the door opening. She looked at the girl that followed Mrs. Katez. She was a beauty. As Mrs. Katez started the introductions it looked like Jade had managed to melt into the wall. Oh well, she could get to know the girl better later. At Ally's gushing over Miss Dusquesne a little smile flashed over Jade's face. The detective would certainly cheer up with the cheery talk from Mrs. Katez daughter. She glanced at Miss Duqesne noticing it looked like she was having trouble breathing again. She frowned. It didn't look too serious. When it did seem to get worse Mrs. Katez would probably call a nurse.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

With her head still down she said Its nice to meet you, Ally. She shook the girls hand, Her head still down. 1 more slammes to her heart. Now she was really in pain. Another slam. She fell back into the bed. Breathing fast, bearly bringing air in breath. d**n it.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio grabbed Calleigh by the arm to steady her. What the f**k is happening now? he asked himself. He sat her down on the bed and sat next to her.
"Calleigh?" He asked with worry in his voice.
"Savannah, Jade, I think it is time now for you guys to be examining her. I have this feeling that she is being controlled. Take a blood sample and bring it back to me I will run it for anything" He said with his voice ice hard. He then walked out of the room and went to the reception desk. After a couple of minutes he came back in waiting for their reply.

[Savannah Katez]

"Ew! Mum, you said nothing about blood! You should have brought Brody up here, too!" Alexandrina complained. Savannah sighed, shaking her head.
"Ally, if you're going to be a detective, you're going to have to get used to the sight of blood. Why don't you call your brother and see if he wants to come up? He can drive himself up here," Savannah replied. "I have to go get get something out of my office, I'll be back in a few minutes." Savannah walked out of the room, her daughter right behind her.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

Calleigh's head was still on the pillow. Her eyes half closed. Yet she couldn't see anything. She opened her eyes all the way. Black. She half closed them again. There was no use in wasteing all her energy. She still couldn't breath. Now she was barerly breathing.

[Savannah Katez]

Savannah came back in the room, carrying her medical bag. Alexandrina stayed out of the room when she saw her mother holding a syringe. She couldn't stand the sight of blood.
"Anyone who cannot stand the sight of blood better leave now," Savnnah stated matter-of-factly. When no one complained, she began to draw out some of Calleigh's blood itno the syringe for testing in the lab.

Jade had actually tried this before. After all she'd worked as an intern for two years in a hospital before becoming a Medical Examiner. But she was afraid that she would make a mistake and hung between the bed and the chair watching Mrs. Katez. After an accident while testing something none of the medical examiners had trusted her enough to do anything. It hadn't been just once Jade thought she should have stuck to becoming a surgeon. She looked at Mrs. Katez wondering if she was going to ask her to do anything. When she didn't she relaxed. Thank God. She looked at Miss Duqesne.
"Are you feeling all right Miss Duquesne?" she asked. As stupid as she knew that sounded she couldn't think o f anything else to say.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

She opened her eyes. Still black. Not really. she could barerly speek. NO IM NOT OK.

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio Walked back over to the window and looked out. He could stand the sight of blood but just didn't want to get in the way while they were drawing blood. So he just stood there and minded his own business. Till someone decided to talk to him.

[Savannah Katez]

Savannah had finished drawing blood.
"Jade, take this blood to the lab. Whatever you do, do not drop it! I don't want to have more blood than necessary," Savannah said to the new Medical Examiner. She would have honestly wanted to take it to the lab to herself, but she wanted to give Jade a chance to prove herself.
She turned to Horatio. "Do you want us to run any more tests?"[/b]

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio thought about that for a moment.
"Not until we test her blood" Horatio finaly said. He didnt turn around. He just stood there staring out into a world. A worl that don't seem familiar to him anymore.

"Yes Mrs. Katez,"she said nodding her head. She took the blood and put it in one of the smaller compartments of her bag zipping it up tightly after she was finished. She walked out of the room at a moderate pace her hand resting over where the sample was in the bag. She relaxed the moment she was out of the room. Having to be near two...no three CSI's at once had stiffened her up a bit. She walked outside and sighed when she noticed it was still pouring outside. She opened her bag again and brought out a small umbrella snapping it open.

[Savannah Katez]

(Picks Up in "J. Chen, Blood sample")

[Horatio Caine]

Horatio noticed Jade leaving. He watched her walk swiftly down the side walk. He took off his glasses when he also saw Savannah going to her car. He looked at the gray clouds, puffy in the sky.

Jade ran down the sidewalk breathing heavily. It was a fair distance to run all the way here. And she hadn't been known for being a champion runner. When she saw Mr. Caine she had to stop for a few seconds to catch her breath.
"Mr. Caine...something...in Miss Duqesne's blood...come to the lab," she said short breaths breaking up her words. She then stopped and waited to see what Mr. Caine would do.

[Horatio Caine]

When Horatio seen Jade running back to the lab he knew there was something wrong. He spun around when Jade came into the room.
"I'm on my way" Horatio said. He then walked to over to Calleigh.
"I will be right back" Hw whispered and went through the door.

[Eric Delko]

Eric Delko hurried into the hospital after hearing about what had happened. He quickly moved out of the way as Horatio, and some other people rushed out of a room, probably Calleigh's room by the looks of it. "H," he tried to speak but cut himself off. He looked unusually anxious. That just made Eric even more concerned. He stepped into the hospital room, and saw Calleigh.

Making his way over to her Eric murmured gently, "Calleigh? Can you hear me?" He did not think of any use to talk to her if she wasn't conscious. He sat down in the chair beside her, watching her intently....

[Calleigh Duquesne]

Calleigh's head jolted up when she hurd the Eric's voice. Hello Eric. Yes i can hear you. Calleigh seemed to feel a bit better after hearing his voice. She thought for a moment. Who knows what the hell is wrong with me. I guess i will have to deal with it till "H" gets back. She thought to her self.

[Eric Delko]

Eric felt slightly relieved that she was still awake. He wanted to hear from her, and no one else that she was okay. The concern still burned in his eyes though, despite the feeling of relief. "How are you feeling?" He asked gently, a slight quaver in his voice. He had flinched when she had jerked around so quickly, as he had thought something is wrong...
But something is wrong. Otherwise she wouldn't be here, his thoughts rang in his mind....

[Calleigh Duquesne]

She sighed. "I've been better. But its not like i haven't been this bad either. But i guess im Ok She said. Her southern accent hanging on every word.

[Eric Delko]

Eric shrugged. "I hope so," Eric replied to Calleigh saying she was okay. To him, she looked terrible. She also looked as though she was in pain, and he admired how she tried to keep it hidden. He respected it as well. "That call gave me quite a scare. Said an officer was down and everything. I'm just glad you're okay," he finished.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

Calleigh smiled. She knew that he most likely thought she looked horible. Oh they made that call. I guess i was more out of it that i thought. Her smile dissapeared as a pain rampaged through her arm.

[Eric Delko]

"Cal, you alright?" Eric got to his feet as he noticed her pain. He knelt down beside the bed. "What's going on?" One moment she was smiling at a small, self said joke and the next she seemed to be in agony.

[Calleigh Duquesne]

She sighed. No im not all right. And To tell you the truth, I dont know whats wrong with me. Thats why......"H" went to go do some blood tests. She tryed to smile through the pain.

[Eric Delko]

Eric took a small move back. "So that's why he was bolting out the door just as I came in?" He tried making a small joke, all though it probably wouldn't help her feel any better. "I'll stay here with you to keep you company, alright?" He asked.
