Grey got out of his beat-up old car. He would've hesitated outside the building had it not been so hot! This definitely was NOT like Chicago. He would've been upset with being here and played the self-pity game but he knew it was his fault.
A long sigh escaped his lips and he took in his surroundings with brown, eyeliner-rimmed eyes. Here we go again.

Kate took a look around the crowded building. The heatic scean was a lot to take in. One second it was like a ghoast town and now it was crowded and buzzing with life. This was good she thought to herself as she walked around. She looked around the cluttered building and something caught her eye. A guy with dark hair and eyeliner.
She smiled and found her way over. Hello you must be new. she said a little shly.

More than a little shocked, Grey looked down at the woman before him. She wasn't the type of person he expected to see here. She made him a little less morose about being there.
He smirked. Am I that obvious? He locked eyes with her. I'm Grey Devine.

She smiled It is just a little bit. I'm Kate Switzer. She suffled her wait from one foot to the other. What is you job here. So i can get you setteled in that way your not standing here waiting anylonger. She turned her head alittle. Her eyes wondered. This will make this job more interesting.

Grey laughed and stuffed in his hands into the pockets of his jacket, which he insisted on wearing, despite the heat. It was his way of rebelling against the weather. But look who got the crap end of the deal...
Ummm....Well... He was reluctant to admit he was a Medical Examiner in case she thought he was some kind of freak with an obsession with cutting people open that was too stupid for med school. I'm the new M.E, actually.

She giggled and jumped up a bit. I dont think your weird. Judeing his reaction. She gave a sweet smile. I'm a M.E. too. We will be working together. It will be great to you don't look like all the happy go-lucky people here. She stopped herself at her remark and had a look of aw on here face. Oops i hope you don't think i'm mean. She said saving herself from her remarks.

Grey smiled genuinely. You don't either. I'm glad I have someone I can relate to. He laughed. You're not mean. Just honest. Well, unless you're secretly a serial killer or kill puppies...then you might be mean....

This guy really knew how to make her laugh. With his remarks and sarcasim. She smiled. I would hope not. Unless i do it in my sleep! She gasped. Mabey thats were the bruses come from..... She smiled slyly making sure not to laugh at her remark.

Grey made a face of mock horror. You monster! He laughed again. He hadn't laughed this much in awhile. Not since his since before his "partying" came to an abrupt end. He didn't realize he was zoning out. His eyes glazed over and he stared blankly at the wall . The smile faded from his lips as he remember that last time.

He smile slowly faded. Something was wrong. His facial exspretion dropped and it seemed that he was off in another world. His eyes gave something away. He was remebering something. Something wasn't right at all. The way that he was zoneing out seemed that he was remebering something that must not be his fondest memory.
She shook her head getting out of her deep thought. Grey are you ok? Somethings wrong i can see it. You dont have to talk to me if you don't want to. We should get to the moruge...... She said trailing off.

Kate's voice pierced right through his memory and he jumped. Blinking, he came back to reality. Forcing he a smile and looked over at her. Everything's fine. We'd better hurry and get to the morgue. All I need right now is the boss on my case.

She made a slight smile. This was going to be long. She turned and looked around. Everything had seem to get queit. Like everyone was watching them. Their eyes burning. She couldn't stand this anymore! She looked at Grey This way..... she said quickly. She took off walking fast.
